When moisture is present, molds can grow on virtually any substance and people are more susceptible to the health effects of microbial growth when it is contained in an indoor environment. Prompt attention to water damage or visible mold can often keep a minor problem from becoming major and can help guard against health issues and property damage. From containment to content cleaning, to environment stabilization, you can trust Steamatic to provide a comprehensive solution to any mold issues.
Steps for Microbial Remediation
1. Containment, Health and Safety
Containment barriers are constructed to prevent the spread of mold spores and mycelial fragments to unaffected areas in your home or office. To protect the health of Steamatic technicians, protective clothing and full-face respirators will be worn. The affected areas are placed under negative pressurization with HEPA filtration to remove spores that become airborne during the remediation process.
Steamatic technicians will stabilize the environment by removing excess humidity and correcting the structural problems that have led to the moisture intrusion. Controlled demolition may be necessary in some cases. In other situations the mold growth may be removed by cleaning, chemical application, and HEPA vacuuming.
Contents may be cleaned on-site or removed to another area of the structure, depending on demolition requirements. In some cases, they may be removed to our Steamatic restoration facility for cleaning. All articles will be registered and inventoried. Your items can be stored and returned to your home or office when the remediation and rebuild process is complete.
4. Air System
If microbial growth is on a non-porous surface within your air system, Steamatic technicians use our proprietary equipment to clean and treat the system with an anti-microbial solution.
5. Clearance Testing
Once the areas have passed environmental testing, your home or office will then be ready to be turned over to the general contractor of your choice for remodeling and reconstruction.
